Age Limit for TGSRTC Recruitment 2025 of Drivers and Shramiks
For the Driver post, the minimum age is 22 years, and the maximum is 35 years as on 1 July 2025.
For the Shramik post, the minimum age is 18 years, and the maximum is 30 years on the same date.
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, BC, and EWS categories are eligible for 5 years of age relaxation.
Ex-Servicemen can claim relaxation of 3 years plus the length of military service.
In addition, the Telangana Government has provided a 12-year general age relaxation as per G.O. Ms. No. 30 (dated 8 February 2024).
Applicants must ensure their age and other eligibility details are valid as of the notification date.
Educational Qualification for TGSRTC Recruitment 2025 of Drivers and Shramiks
To apply for the Driver post, candidates must have passed SSC (10th class) or an equivalent examination recognized by the Telangana State Government.
They must also possess a valid Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicle (HPMV) and Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) or Transport Vehicle driving licence, held for at least 18 months as of 17 September 2025.
Applicants should also meet the required physical and medical fitness standards prescribed by TGSRTC.
For the Shramik post, candidates should have completed ITI in one of the recognized trades such as Mechanic (Diesel/Motor Vehicle), Sheet Metal/MVBB, Fitter, Auto Electrician/Electrician, Painter, Welder, Cutting & Sewing/Upholster, or Millwright Mechanic.
Those holding equivalent Centre of Excellence (CoE) certificates are also eligible.
Selection Process for TGSRTC Recruitment 2025 of Drivers and Shramiks
The selection process for Drivers involves several stages.
First, candidates must undergo a Physical Measurement Test (PMT), where the minimum height required is 160 cm.
Next, they will appear for a Driving Test worth 60 marks, which assesses practical driving skills such as gear control, braking, reversing, and traffic awareness.
Candidates will also receive weightage marks (40 marks) based on their SSC performance and driving experience. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of 100 marks.
Minimum qualifying marks are 50% for OC/EWS, 45% for BC, and 40% for SC/ST categories.
For Shramik posts, the selection is merit-based.
Candidates’ ITI marks will be scaled up to 90 marks, and those possessing a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) will get an additional 10 marks.
This makes a total of 100 marks for selection.
The same qualifying percentage applies as in the Driver category — 50% for OC/EWS, 45% for BC, and 40% for SC/ST.
